  • In celebration of Women's History Month, join us on Wednesday, March 31st for our Financial Wellness for Women virtual event! *NEW SPEAKER ADDED!* Monica Martinez-Hess, Cheryl Sanchez, and Gloria Correa-Cepin will be the speakers for this event. Bios: Cheryl: Cheryl Sanchez is a mom, entrepreneur, speaker, and author. She has an extensive background in healthcare, business development, and entrepreneurship, and she is the founder of TheNetWorks Organization. She attended the Bronx High School of Science and has both a BS in Business Administration and an MBA from Fordham University. While at Fordham for her MBA, she visited Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and presented to the Rio Department of Tourism. Cheryl has held various leadership roles including Executive Director of the Yorktown Small Business Association and VP of Development for the Fordham University Black and Hispanic MBA Association. She was inspired to share her story after navigating through some extensive life challenges and her book, “The Journey of Success: Even When Success Was Just Getting Out of Bed”, was released in September 2018. Cheryl is an advocate for the underdog (or cat) and is active with various causes. Monica: Monica Martinez-Hess was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she received her BA in Marketing from the University of Guadalajara. Monica moved to the United States in 2009 and began her career as a Financial Professional with New York Life in March 2010. Monica achieved several awards in the company and in June 2012 was promoted to be part of NYL Latino as a Recruiting and Marketing Manager in the Westchester area. She was responsible for attracting, hiring, and retaining top sales talent to serve the financial needs of the Latino community. Currently, Monica is a Financial Professional at the Manhattan General Office with New York Life. She serves and educates Latino families and business owners in the tristate area about financial products and services. Monica is an Executive Council agent and just recently, in 2020, became part of the Million Dollar Round Table, the Premier Association of Financial Professionals. Monica has been recognized by the Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at Growing with Heels, Celebrating the Power of Women. In 2017, she was named Top Latino Insurance Agent by Latino Leaders magazine and received a business award from the Yonkers Hispanic Federation Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Hope’s Door, which is a nonprofit that helps victims of domestic violence. Monica's goal is to keep empowering women and being an example for young Latinas. She currently resides in Ossining, NY, with her husband Phil and their 2 children, Mateo and Elena. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Gloria: Gloria Correa-Cepin is a licensed real estate broker with Exp Realty. In her previous position as an Independent Principal Broker, Gloria led a team of real estate professionals, representing buyers and sellers throughout the Bronx, Hudson River and the surrounding NY area. Gloria is fluent in Spanish and has a long record of successfully guiding local and foreign clients with their residential and commercial leasing transactions. She combines her extensive experience and love for the industry with her passion for ongoing education in her field. Gloria was awarded the designations of CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist) and SFR (Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource) by the National Association of Realtors. She is a firm believer in volunteering in her community having served on the boards of The Kids’ Club, Tarrytown Sleepy Hollow Farmer’s Market (TASH) and mentoring high school students in the Upward Bound Program at Mercy College. She currently serves on the board of the New York East Chapter of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) and is a member of the Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Council (TEAC).
