"April showers bring May flowers."
We have all heard this quote a million times. Sometimes I think that maybe people just say this to stop the complaining. Or maybe they say it to give us some light and hope during the often dreary, rainy days of early Spring. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but I sometimes - usually on particularly rainy days - find myself saying to myself "But do they really? Do we REALLY need all this rain?"
Then I started to think about it.
Last month was the beginning of Spring. Spring IS about light and hope. Spring is also about planting the seeds and watering them. Caring for them and watching them grow.
When we think about plant seeds, it's a literal process. Seeds are created, they get planted, we water and care for them, and they *hopefully* grow.
There's also the process of planting seeds of thought. That leads me to these quotes:
“Your mind is a garden. Your thoughts are the seeds. The harvest can either be flowers or weeds.” — William Wordsworth
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant.” — Robert Louis Stevenson
Plant the seeds, water them, and watch them grow... literally and figuratively. The showers WILL bring flowers.
Wishing you all the best that May has to offer!
