About Me/Bio
Cheryl Sanchez is a mom, entrepreneur, speaker, and author. She has an extensive background in healthcare, business development, and entrepreneurship, and is the founder of TheNetWorks Organization: an accessible network of leaders, forward-thinkers, and entrepreneurs who have joined together to realize success and to create and foster positive social impact.
She attended the Bronx High School of Science and later attended Fordham University as an adult, single mom obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business when she was in her early 30’s and an MBA in her early 40’s. At Fordham, Cheryl was a recipient of the All-American Scholar Collegiate Award and the University’s Dean Scholarship. She was also awarded the Richard J. Fay Memorial Scholarship, which was established to support non-traditional students, like Cheryl, who are employed during the day and are supporting a family while working towards a degree. While at Fordham for her MBA, she visited Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and presented about entrepreneurship to the Rio Department of Tourism.
In addition to her career in healthcare and her own business, Cheryl has held various leadership roles including Executive Director of the Yorktown Small Business Association and VP of Development for the Fordham University Black and Hispanic MBA Association.
She has published several articles and has been interviewed multiple times. Most recently, she was interviewed on the Jay Maymi Talk Show, by Bob Lee on Open on BronxNet, and on the Leadership Strategies for Women Podcast.
Her work with TheNetWorks has resulted in several awards and recognitions. She is a recipient of the 2013 “Bronx Entrepreneurs and Business Network” award and was recognized by the City of Miami Beach, Florida for assisting and supporting local businesses. TheNetWorks was named “Small Business of the Month” in 2011 by the National Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce.
She was inspired to share her story after navigating through some extensive life challenges and her book, “The Journey of Success: Even When Success Was Just Getting Out of Bed”, was released in September 2018.
Cheryl is an advocate for the underdog (or cat) and is active with various causes and in her local community.
